Board to Consider Options for

Electoral District Boundary Realignment Following Annexation of Greene Township

On December 5, 2022, the Board of School Trustees approved the annexation of Greene Township to John Glenn School Corporation. The annexation became effective January 1, 2024.

In light of the revised SBCSC boundaries, Indiana law requires the Board of School Trustees to realign the electoral district boundaries to ensure the districts are, as nearly as practicable, of equal population, with the population of the largest district not to exceed the population of the smallest district by more than 5 percent.

At its meeting on January 8, 2024, the Board will consider four options for realigning the electoral district boundaries, each of which comply with the statutory requirement.

The four options are described in the maps and slide deck linked below.

At the January 8, 2024 meeting, the Board will consider the options and vote on new plan. Following the Board meeting, the plan will be published in the newspaper. If there are no objections from the public to the published plan, the plan will be certified for the 2024 school board elections.
